Basketball England Membership Information

Membership Period

Player licenses are valid from 1st September 2024 to 31st August 2025.

How to Register

To register, visit the Basketball England Membership Portal.

Step 1: Create an Account

If you already have a Basketball England account, you can skip this step. Otherwise, you’ll need to create an account for the player (yourself or your child). The Basketball England membership number will begin with the letter "A." This only needs to be done once.

Step 2: Purchase a Player Licence

Choose the appropriate licence based on the level of competition:

  • National League Teams: Select a "National League Licence."
  • Local League Players: Choose a "Local League Licence."
  • Playing in Both Leagues? Purchase the higher-level licence required (e.g., National League Licence).

Once registered, ensure your membership is linked to Fastbreak Basketball within the portal.

Example:

If your child plays for both the St Neots Eagles U14 team (Local League) and the U12 Cambridge Kestrels National League team, they will only need the National League Licence.

Club Code

When registering, make sure to associate the player with our Club Code: CA5176 – Fastbreak United.

Required Documents

  • A passport-style photo (electronic copy) must be submitted with the application.
  • For National League Licences, you must also upload a copy of a passport or birth certificate.

Approval Process

Once your application is complete:

  • Our admin will receive an email from Basketball England.
  • They will approve the Club affiliation and assign the player to their respective team.
  • Please let your coach know your player license which starts with "LP" letters.

Training Session Fees

We charge termly for all sessions and we expect everyone to commit to the full term. See your club's Online Shop for more information about training session costs.

Match Fees (Optional)

Participating in matches is entirely optional, and you only need to pay match fees if you choose to compete in Saturday games. One payment covers matches for the entire season, which runs from October to June. The fees for the 2024/25 season have not been finalised yet, but we anticipate regular matches for the following teams:

  • U11
  • U12
  • U14
  • U16

Match fees will be announced later in the season. We are also considering implementing a new system where players only pay for the matches they play.

Basketball England Membership

In addition to match fees, players will need to create a Basketball England account, and then pay for a 'player' licence.

Each player will only need one licence regardless of the number of teams you play for.  You should buy the highest level licence you require.  For instance, if you are on the St Neots Eagles U14 team (Local League), but also on the U12 Cambridge Kestrels National League team, you will only need the National League Licence.
